GeoSUN Africa, based in Stellenbosch, is a spin-off company of the Centre for Renewable and Sustainable Energy Studies (CRSES) at Stellenbosch University. GeoSUN specialise in solar resource assessments for the solar energy industry. GeoSUN has a Junior Technician position available for a recently graduated NDip student or for a student looking to complete their P1/P2 and stay on with the company (this will be a one year contract with the intention of extending it). Please don't apply if you are looking to only do your P1/P2, we will only accept P1/P2 candidates who would like to stay on after their internship.

There quirements are:

Good English proficiency
Travelling and site work will be required
Valid Driver's License with driving experience
For P1/P2: All required subjects passed (no subjects that need to be completed part time during the P1/P2 period)
South African citizen with above average moral values
The successful candidate will be required to assist with:

On-site measurement equipment installations and maintenance, focusing on measurement instruments, data logging equipment software and communication systems.
Calibration work at utility scale Solar Plants (many of which are in remote locations in South Africa).
Office work which could entail data processing, data storage (SQL), data logger programming, weather station pre-setup and testing, etc.

The following will be beneficial but not a requirement:

Previous experience with data logger meteorological equipment
Afrikaans proficiency (many of the project sites are in the Northern Cape)
Salary Range:

Dependent on whether you have completed your NDip or still need to complete your P1/P2
