Domestic Underwriter, Insurance Industry, East Rand

Candidate Requirements

Grade 12 or equivalent
RE5 and RE1 a MUST – copies to be sent with application
FAIS qualification/credits – copies to be sent with application
Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Short Term Insurance Personal Lines Underwriter
Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure new business targets are met
Ensure retention targets are met
Ensure that all stakeholder (e.g. clients, AE’s, insurers) communication is accurate, timeous, professional and relevant
Build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Ensure and contribute to achieving the required client satisfaction targets
Keep accurate record of own activities

Adhere to company standards (incl. SLA’s) and procedures such as but not limited to:
General queries
Underwrite, rating and risk analysis and quote on new business.
Must be able to analyse and assess risks.
Renewals
Endorsements
Cancellations
Refunds
Contribute towards and ensure continuous improvement in own and team performance
Adhere to company mandates
Must be client focused and very service orientated
Product knowledge and knowledge of wordings
Participate and contribute in ad hoc projects
Visit clients as and when required
Report any suspected fraud, misrepresentation and/or dishonesty
