DUTIES:
· Ensure maintenance of safety management system
· Conduct internal safety audits as well as co-ordination of external audits
· Ensure accurate reporting of incidents/accidents
· Conduct incident/accident investigations & provide recommendations
· Co-ordinate all safety training required including that of contractors
· Ensure all Safety Committee meetings are held on a monthly basis
· Control the number of registers that have to be completed
· Control of inspections on equipment used
· Co-ordination of repair & maintenance requirements
· Ensure maintenance of the quality assurance system
· Conduct internal quality assurance audits and co-ordinate external audits
· Compile minutes of the safety committee meetings
· Compile minutes of the quality management review
· Booking annual, exit and pre-employment medicals
· Compile risk assessments and safe operating procedures for different BELL machines as required by mines
· Maintaining Technilaw SHEQ management system
REQUIREMENTS:
· Grade 12
· Applicants must have legal compliance system course certificate - OHS Act
· Valid driver’s licence
· SAMTRAC Certificate
· At least Minimum 2 years experience in a safety environment
· Must have solid understanding of the safety management system
· Proven track record in safety representation
· Good communication & interpersonal skills
· Keen understanding of all processes within the stores and the workshops
· Ability to keep statistics & draw reports for communicating to Management & discussion at safety committee meetings
· Exposure to ISO 9000 and preference will be given to the applicants with ISO system certificate
· Computer literacy in lotus, intranet, Internet
· Medically fit , be able to obtain red ticket (medical certificate ) as required by mines
