ARTISAN: ELECTRICAL

Requirements: * A Trade Test Certificate (Electrician) * 1 to 2 years’ relevant post-trade experience * A valid Code B driver’s licence * Overhead line construction and maintenance training (preferred) *
Willingness to work in all weather conditions and outside normal working hours during emergencies and planned overtime as well as prepared to enter confined areas and be on standby duties.

Key Performance Areas: * Perform planned and predictive maintenance, such as testing plant and equipment to assess operating functionality and safety * Perform Fault finding and repairs to the network and equipment, including diagnosing faults through the application of visual and other related inspections as well as investigation procedures and removing, cleaning and/or replacing defective components with re-conditioned or new components * Provide supervision and administration guidelines and specific instructions to personnel with respect to the preparation of work site for major/minor works * Complete internal transactional documentation (e.g. time sheets, log sheets, progress and productivity reports, etc.) and related forms (vehicle checklist) as well as writing of minor job related reports for submission to the immediate supervisor.
