The Digital Frontiers Institute (DFI) is an EdTech company focused on the FinTech industry. They were established to bridge capacity gaps that exist in the digital financial services (DFS) profession with a view to accelerating financial inclusion especially in developing markets. They do so through continued learning, mentoring and connecting a global network for professionals who work in DFS.

To date DFI has trained more than 2500 professionals globally. Their students represent more than 600 organisations in 85 countries, 70% of which have an MBA and 45 % of which are Executive Level. Their League of Professionals is now 2600 strong. DFI recently launched their Chartered Digital Finance Practitioners (CDFP) journey, a 3 year-certification- the first of its kind globally.

Their vision is to expand these capacity building capabilities to new frontiers in the next 5 years including food security, health care and education.

We are seeking a seasoned Sales professional to be a key part of a newly formed Sales team. This team is responsible for proactively contacting (via all channels – phone, email etc.) and building relationships with new potential B2B clients across multiple markets and industry sectors, with the ultimate goal being to successfully convert these B2C clients from β€œpotential” to β€œactive” over a short period of time. This may extend to maintaining and building on the existing client base, and established partnerships that boost Sales in both B2B and B2C markets.

It would be beneficial if you hold EdTech / FinTech and/or Education Sector / Industry experience, as you will be required to hit the ground running. You will be expected to perform well in this Sales function to a high standard from the get go - actively using your Sales finesse in effectively selling courses to prospective clients.

The extent of your career may have focused on outbound B2B Sales and/or as a B2B Sales Rep however regardless of this, it is imperative that you have at least 3 years Sales experience within a similar position where you would have gained extensive proven experience of successfully sourcing and securing new B2B business (national and international). You will be skilled in hunting down potential clients remotely and be highly successful in quickly establishing rapport through your personable remote communication skills. You will need to be able to showcase your proven ability at meeting / exceeding your set Sales targets, as well as hold a high hit rate of bringing on board new clients.

We want someone who are highly personable, customer centric, self-motivated and organised. Someone with a true hunter mindset, who can think outside of the box in terms of exploring new potential markets, with the ability to engage prospective clients and effectively keep the Sales pipeline full at all times.

Your main responsibilities in the position will be:

Identify specific B2B client and industry targets to feed into pipedream & convert to pipeline;
Populate CRM document / system to enable accurate tracking of prospects and conversions;
Remain knowledgeable on all Educational Product / Service offerings;
Report weekly & monthly on progress related to client acquisitions, revenue and student targets for each course;
Work with Sales Leaders to remain knowledgeable on prospective clients and industry targets;
Maintain client relationships remotely, ensuring continued selling opportunities exist;
Work with Sales Leaders and third party Digital Marketing Agencies to utilise Social Media as a Business Development channel;
Attend and provide support on specific events (as required);
Work with Sales Leaders on client focus groups in targeted markets;
Manage the introductions and responses to referrals we receive.


This is a Full Time, Permanent position, based in Cape Town CBD and reports to the Commercial Director.

Our office hours are standard however, as we are a start-up, we require people who are happy with flexible and non-standard working hours, particularly in the weeks around each cohort and when dealing with programs in other geographies.

Cost to Company Package on offer, consisting of a Market Related monthly Salary, a Travel Allowance and Group Risk Benefits. Additionally, there is a generous Commission structure in place - based on converted Sales earned in US$ (converted and paid out in ZAR on a monthly basis).

Education / Experience:

Matric
Diploma / Degree (advantageous)
Some experience working within the EdTech / Education Sector or e-Learning environment
Minimum 3 years B2B Sales Experience (remote outbound Sales)
Proven experience in remote Key Account Management
Proven experience in remote B2B and B2C new business Sales
Proven experience in meeting / exceeding Sales Targets
Experience in using various CRM systems
Proficent with using MS Excel
Specialist knowledge / skills:

Good understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements
Good understanding of commercial objectives
Hunter / Sales mindset (personal skills)
Confident in both corporate and non-corporate environments
Adaptable with working across multiple markets and cultures
Innovative with client solutions
