The successful candidate will work within our Inventory team and will be responsible for reconciling stock count information received from stores, transporter claims and other stock-related administration duties.
You will report to the Accountant: Inventory for the duration of the contract.

Qualifications
- Grade 12 (Accounting and/ or Mathematics)
- Relevant Tertiary Qualification (Certificate/ Diploma/ Degree)
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong financial reconciliation skills
- General ledger knowledge
- Good knowledge of financial administration and basic accounting principles and their application (debits, credits, journals, reconciliations)
- Knowledge of inventory process, basic transport and logistics
- Computer skills, intermediate to advanced Excel
- Communication skills (verbal and written)
- Interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Attention to detail
- Above average numerical ability
- Deadline driven
- Analytical thinking
- Ability to work under pressure
- Able to deal with large volumes of work
Experience:
- 2 -3 years relevant finance administration experience, including strong reconciliation experience
- Previous experience within a retail environment would be advantageous
Key Responsibilities
1. Stock counts for stores
- Draw reports for identified stores, assigned days for stock take in each store
- Do reconciliation and communicate results to ops team
- Stores to review exceptions
- Shrinkage reporting
- Investigate stock losses/ gain
- Schedule stock counts
2. Investigate Store and DC inventory queries and assist in resolving them
3. Goods in transit
- Assist stores with follow ups and investigation
4. Transporter claims
- Receive and investigate weekly claims from transporter
- Do recon of all the accounts at the end of the month for all accounts around claims
- Submit claims โ self-insurance or transporter
- Prepare journals
