About the Position

Description

An exciting opportunity for a Group Security Manager has become available at the prestigious Company. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the Security for the Company. This will include security at our six retirement villages. The incumbent will be part of the management team and provide guidance on all security issues and implement security initiatives.

Duties include but will not be limited to the following:

Analyse the operations and improve on internal systems & procedures
Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain security standards
Manage all security staff and determine risk factors and placement of staff at critical points and times
To conduct and formulate Risk assessments of premises
Introduce and maintain management processes to ensure that all security related equipment is maintained and kept in good working order
Identification of weaknesses in security systems, equipment and procedures

Accurate management of CCTV and electronic equipment
Reporting of any shortcomings in security equipment
Expertise in perimeter security and related electronic systems
Emergency procedures ie Fire evacuations, Lockdown procedures, Violent intrusion
Evacuation drill exercises
Administration of daily checks and logging and following up of reports, reporting to clients on incidents, putting controls in place to minimise incidents. Ensure compliance with ISO 9001.
Compiling worksheets, time tables and schedules
Submitting monthly reports on the site security status
Training of security staff
Updating of technology and standards in the security environment
Requirements

Qualifications:

PSIRA Grade A
Post Graduate qualification an advantage
Experience:

5 years security management experience at multiple sites (residential, commercial & retail sites). Experience at conducting investigations and report writing. Knowledge of ISO procedures and requirements.
5 year experience in integrated security system design, installation and management as well as equipment lifecycle and budgeting
5 year experience with technical security system design including access control, CCTV, intrusion detection and advanced security applications such as biometrics, ip intercom systems, video analytics and visitor management Experience in writing design specifications and standards, technical manuals and procedures
Skills and Knowledge:

Knowledge of security related procedures, equipment, control rooms, access systems, electric fencing, fire alarms, CCTV and other related security systems.
Extensive knowledge of CCTV systems and their use in managing security risks.
Computer literate
Good written and verbal communication skills
Management experience
Proficient communication at all levels
Ability to analyse processes & identify deficiencies/vulnerabilities.
Effective reporting
Working Hours:
Normal working hours are 45 hours per week from Monday to Friday, 08h00 to 17h00 with a daily lunch break of 45 minutes. You will be required to work the balance of the five hours over the weekend to make up the 45 hours (to check on systems and procedures and staff attendance). Due to the nature of the position, you will be required to be on call 24/7.
