Description
ales and business development support
Develops partnerships with nominated EDA and Experian local market Sales and Business Development functions to promote and sell all of the services and benefits of the Global Consulting Team.
In conjunction with local market Sales and Business Development functions, develops the Strategic Plan which identifies the opportunities to deliver complex risk and customer management solutions in existing markets.
Drives the positioning of Core Solutions with all client opportunities.
Positions, sells and delivers business reviews to identify the business case and ROI for every client opportunity
Supports the preparation of sales materials and proposals, including case study material.
Takes responsibility for the production of proposals.
Has input to contractual negotiations to ensure successful delivery of products and services to the client.
Identifies commercial opportunities for new and different consultancy offerings, as well as wider EDA products and services, globally. Develops the propositions and drives them through with global offices and clients.
Develops, contributes to and maintains a pipeline of potential prospects

Measures of performance
Successful sales of large projects with contract values in excess of $1m

 

 
Regularly presents and discusses GCT services with local markets.
Regularly identifies and follows through on opportunities for new business.
Identifies, develops and delivers new commercial opportunities for the GCT.
Understands the wider value of the client to Experian and EDA.
Carries out Consulting engagements
Ensures that all solution designs maximise the business benefits to be gained by the client, and solve their specific problems. Also, ensures that software and scoring solutions are effectively integrated across the business.
Coaches the other consultants on the project to maximise the effectiveness of their approach.
Acts as the central ‘expert’ and provides thought leadership on all aspects of the client’s business, including customer acquisition, customer management and collections; and across products, including credit cards, cheque accounts etc.
Input to designs and reviews of client strategies
Regularly prepares and presents to clients to ensure they understand the business issues involved in the project.
Leads the client through the key aspects of their internal change process, ensuring that all the teams and operations affected are brought in at the appropriate time.
Measures of performance
Structured application of expertise in EDA solutions and services
Definition and application of best practice through continual production and update of templates and standards.
Effectiveness of client and project management
Other commissions identified and requested
Mentoring and development of local consultants
Develops and manages client and internal team relationships that facilitate successful project delivery
Develops strong working relationships with managers and senior executives within client organisations to achieve project objectives, and maintain the relationship ongoing.
Understands client and Experian business needs and proactively seeks ways to add value to the client.
Recognises sensitivities that may exist within the client or within Experian that could impede effective project development and delivery. Manages these sensitivities effectively
Acts as escalation point for the programme manager for project activities, issues and risks.
Authorises and manages any budget or cost overruns with EDA management
Effective communication of project issues to all project team members globally and to EDA management.
Aware of terms of the contract and ensures no conflict with this. Manages any contractual issues that may arise.
Defines project scope and manages client expectations.
Works with members of the EDA team to deliver project milestones.
Ensures project financials are up-to-date.

Full understanding of the clients’ environment, including organisation, financials, tools and processes
Delivery of activities and projects to time, cost and quality standards.

Development of new consulting propositions (Initiative Leaders)
Identifies new commercial opportunities for consulting propositions and proves their feasibility with Senior Management
Defines and develops the proposition, the sales process, and the market.
Develops the materials to support the marketing, sales and delivery of the projects in conjunction with the marketing team.
Proactively communicates the proposition to local sales teams, global consultants and their clients
Leads initial sales globally
Carries out initial projects globally, supported by local consultancy teams where required.

Comprehensive and professional packaging of all propositions which are well known and understood by the whole team.
Sales in new propositions increase
Global spread of sales increases


Personal and team (GCT) development, including Knowledge Sharing
Takes ownership of own knowledge and personal development. Prepares own PDP.
Willingly provides time and hands-on training for team members in the use and application of EDA products and services; acts in a mentoring role as necessary
Produces and presents effective material for the professional development of all team members based on own experience e.g. case studies, knowledge documents, white papers
Seeks to develop an effective and wide network of business contacts.
Develops appropriate ‘knowledge’ materials and ensures their use globally to achieve revenue.
Attends and/or presents at internal and external conferences
Runs internal user groups to proactively develop ‘next practice’
Displays a confident and professional manner at all times.
Is hardworking, reliable and trustworthy in the eyes of colleagues and clients.
Produces high quality deliverables for internal and external viewing.
Displays energy and enthusiasm for the ongoing success of the team.
Measures of performance
Extends visibly their own skills and knowledge year on year
Is approachable and recognised by EDA teams as an ‘expert’ in a particular field of expertise.
Produces at least one training / development session per year
Attends conferences to represent the GCT and EDA.
Proactively develops team members and other consultants globally through coaching and knowledge sharing.
Contributes positive PR for the GCT by example
Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications
Good operational business knowledge
Experience of working effectively in virtual teams, and demonstrated collaboration and team working skills
Innovative, with demonstrated thought leadership.
Excellent PC skills, especially in Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Ability to solicit and organise qualitative and quantitative data from EDA and Client sources.
Demonstrated ability to organise findings in a clear and consistent format.
Strong problem solving ability
Effective communication of propositions and solutions through compelling presentation of recommendations to senior client executives
Active listening and effective questioning skills
Effective compilation of written and presentation material using the Pyramid Principle.
Strong influencing and negotiation skills
