Job Purpose
This role will use the knowledge and skills to improve forecast accuracy & Inventory levels to enhance profitability in their respective category. To assist the business, using the demand forecast, to make informed decisions about pricing, growth and potential risks and opportunities
Key Accountabilities
In line with the job purpose, key accountabilities will entail the following:
Ensure an optimum 3 year baseline forecast is generated taking macro-economic conditions and trends into account
Facilitate the collaborative demand planning process:
Work closely with Sales, Marketing and Finance (drive internal collaboration) to create Building Blocks at levels representative of market segments and product families that can be forecasted with levels of confidence and accuracy
Develop detailed forecasts by SKU, based on family level consensus forecasts, and will provide easy analysis for use in the IBP (Integrated Business Process) process
Ensure that assumptions, risks and opportunities are managed, understood and escalated.
Engage Product Supply on Inventory forecast to maintain forecast accuracy integrity.
Analyze and research economic trends related to the FMCG environment as an input to forecasts
Analyze and improve forecast accuracy and other key planning performance metrics
Facilitate the monthly Category Demand Review and communicate issues into the Regional Demand process
Optimize the Demand Planning process and provide user training
Provide volume input for the contract process.
Key performance areas are Forecast Error, Forecast Bias, IBP Planning, Analytics, CSL & CFR
As the Demand Planner you will need to work with our external retailers and internally with our commercial teams.
Qualifications
Person Specification
In order to succeed in this role, it is expected that the ideal candidate will have:
Tertiary qualification in engineering, science or commerce, with a minimum of two years’ experience in supply chain planning.
A qualification around Demand Planning best practice will be an advantage
