Job Summary Aon South Africa has an exciting opportunity for a Claims Service Advisor at our Sandton Office.
The role of a Claims Service Advisor is to manage the claims process from registration to finalisation
Applies company policies and procedures to deliver varied technical and professional activities and to resolve issues that are generally similar in nature.
Key Responsibilities Responsible for the provision of claims services to clients, specifically claims administration, resolving specific claims issues
Registers new claims on relevant systems
Provides Client Managers with claims statistics
Liaises with other claims personnel (where applicable) to identify claims issue(s) and has a solution focused approach
Deals with insurers/ claims service providers to solve issues, including the appointment of assessors and/ or loss adjustors
Maintains accurate records on claims systems and files
Acquires advice from insurers and communicates with clients on claims status
Contributes to overall effectiveness of the team, productivity targets and service level agreements through effective planning and organising of workload
Responsible for managing aggregates including fund management
Responsible for monthly reporting to the relevant stakeholders
Attends to monthly meetings with clients and Client Managers

Minimum Requirements A minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent
A Bachelor’s degree is preferable
Must be registered as a representative with the FSB in terms of the FAIS Act
Must be registered as a licenciate with the IISA
Have minimum 4 to 6 years’ experience in handling Commercial Claims
Must have passed the RE exam
Have a good working knowledge of multi-peril and assets type policy wordings
Be dependable and respect confidentiality
Have a high work ethic and must have the ability to function effectively under pressure
Be a team player, have the ability to build good relationships, support and actively participate in, and contribute to any team initiatives
Individual with knowledge of the principles and practices within a technical/ professional discipline.
Possesses advanced analytical, technical and problem-solving skills and abilities.
Be computer literate with advanced experience in MS Word & Excel
Ability to communicate effectively
Good interpersonal and organizational skills
Very good knowledge of Policy wordings
FAIS Compliance Comply with the applicable Fit and Proper provisions as set out in the Board Notice 106 of 2008 issued by the Financial Services Board governing Financial Advisory and Intermediary services Act, 2002 Determination of Fit and Proper requirements for Financial Service Providers, 2008.
Have knowledge and understanding of the applicable provisions set out in the General Code of Conduct for Authorized Financial Services Providers and Representatives (as governed by the Financial Services Board, Board Notice 80 of 2003).
Have knowledge and understanding of the applicable provisions set out in the Short Term Insurance Act No 53 of 1998 and supporting regulations.
Have an understanding of the provisions of the Financial Intelligence Centre Act (FICA), No 38 of 2001 and amendments thereof.
