Duties and responsibility

Greet customers entering the establishment in a friendly manner.
Receive payments in terms of cash, check, credit and debit order.
Issue receipts, refunds, credits, and change to the customers.
Count money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of your shifts to ensure that the amounts are correct.
Ensure that the checkout areas are clean and in order.
Be able to identify prices of goods.
Issue trading stamps.
Communicate and attend to customer’s complaints.
Be able to answer customer’s complaints and provide the necessary information on request.
Calculate total payments against total sales for cash-up purposes.
Record totals of transactions.
Keep record of balance sheets of amounts and numbers of transactions

Sort, count and wrap currency and coins.
Process returns and exchange of goods.
Stock shelves and mark prices on shelves and items
Compile non-monetary reports and records.
Monitor checkout station to ensure you have everything in order
Job requirements

Minimum of 2years experience as a cashier/sales assistant
Accuracy when dealing with money and calculating change
Great communications skills and customer service skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and ability to work well under pressure
Understanding basic statistics and basic mathematical skills
Great interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively and accurately under pressure
Have a good customer service background and maintain professionalism at all times.
Must have great product knowledge (beauty products) in order to pick up any pricing problems and effectively handle all pricing issues/product queries.
