We are looking for a dedicated team player to join our Cargo Team in Cape-Town.
In this role, you are expected to build sustainable relationships with customers to plan production activities making sure of the loading and discharging related to the cargo operations.

Key responsibilities
You will be expected to:
Drive efficiency, productivity and innovation in tasks and scope by working closely with the GSC & GSP.
- Manage and inspires cost- consciousness across functions to ensure constant reduction of costs, through providing feedback upstream to ensure better vessel planning downstream.
Build strong working relationships with key internal and external customers to achieve key targets and deadlines
Assists with development of operational policies within area of responsibility and communicate to relevant stakeholders both internal and External.
Drive high utilisation of our vessels and assets.
Optimise and proactively plans transhipment volumes
Issue policies on connecting time windows, cargo cut off and downfall management, as an output from vessel planning, to ensure improved future utilisation and execution.
Take responsibility for reducing waste such as longstanding containers, renominations and cargo no-shows.
Be responsible for handling special cargo request, such as OOG capabilities, Hazardous acceptance (including RKDC maintenance).
Act as main focal for all damages and claims for transhipment cargo.
Facilitate execution improvement discussions with various departments, to assist with deadline adherence and data quality.
Focus on Vessel load plan approval through active engagement between terminal and vessel in agreed deadlines.
Manage Damage Prevention ensuring that tasks are delivered with agreed performance β Claims handling for all transhipment cargo.
As Terminal Focal, be responsible for leading regular performance related feedback calls with specific terminal within scope as well as maintain comprehensive overview of terminal capabilities.
Back up to EDI & Data Quality Specialist β following rollout.
Execute the tasks set to deliver Transport Plan compliance within the Liner Operations Cluster geography
We are looking for
Minimum 3 yearsβ experience or more in container business
Area Operations or Cluster Management experience would be appreciated
Previous experience from either of the following: Area Route Management or Area/Cluster Operations or OC function
Facilitate cargo execution β deliver what has been sold
Drive best practise behaviour inside the Cluster geography
Deliver Transport Plan compliance as per agreed targets
Implement and drive continuous process changes/improvements
Ability to work with time constraints and to make decisions
Sharp communication skills
While a first significant experience would be an advantage we welcome Graduates within our field of expertise to apply
