ABOUT THE ROLE / PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Be able to perform all artisan functions related to petrochemical plant, substation and building electrical equipment maintenance, operations support and fault finding.
FUNCTIONAL OUTPUTS
Travelling to service providers when requested
Support to mechanical/instrument maintenance and production when requested
Participation in artisan standby duties
Execution of tasks associated with maintenance inspections and strategies
Able to assist with modifications/upgrades on existing electrical systems
An ability to scope and execute small projects
Installation, testing and commissioning new/repaired electrical installations in accordance with Sasol specifications.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
GR12 with Maths, Science & English.
NQF L4 electrical trade test certificate/Electrical Red Seal.
Strong wish: Red Seal certification
Minimum 3-5years’ experience as a qualified artisan
Driver’s license (code 08)

Experience:
Strong electrical power system and electronics skills
An ability to scope and execute small projects
SCADA experience (ABB, Siemens)
A practical understanding of IS and SIL
A practical understanding of EX and hazardous area classifications
QA/QC experience with electrical installations

Functional / Technical
An ability to conduct high level fault finding, repair and inspections on LV and MV switchgear, electrical control systems, transformers, DC&UPS;systems, VSDs, cables, earthing systems, electrical protection relays, heaters, motors, cranes, lifts and EX rated classified equipment
An ability to read and interpret electrical single line drawings, motor control schematics, logic diagrams, data sheets and associated technical documents
