We require a experienced Vehicle Damage Assessor to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for assessing damaged vehicles, determining what repairs are necessary, authorising repair work and making sure that all invoices received are relevant. A strong background in the assessment of damaged vehicles is necessary. Candidates from both an insurance, accident management and body shop background will be considered as long as experience has been gained assessing damaged vehicles.
Key Accountabilities
Responsible for the authorisation of suitably costed repair estimates in line with agreed rates, methods and timings. Where initial estimated costs cannot be agreed, negotiate revised costs and methods in the best interest of the customer.
Provide technical support for other claims department colleagues and wider business colleagues, as required.
Support the reduction of 'vehicle off road'ย time by challenging methods and processes to ensure customer inconvenience is minimised.
Where required, validate and authorise the payment of repair invoices within agreed customer limits and tolerances.
Provide technical support for repair rectification issues/complaints.
Where required, support Prospect/existing customer visits, demonstrating our full range of Engineering capability and ensuring we maximise our competitive advantage.
Ensure customer SLA's are not negatively impacted by engineering performance.
Promote the fair treatment of customers in decisions and actions undertaken.
Skills/Knowledge
The role requires in-depth knowledge and experience of motor accident damage repair practices.
Experience of discussing repair methods and times with supply chain partners and have market credibility.
Previous experience of accident damage repair estimating and working with leading repair estimating platforms.
