Senior Administrative Assistant: Permanent Position (AD11)
The main purpose of this position
Administrator for Rural Health and the Center Rural Health Advisory Board
Administrative support to the Rural Health Division as a whole including its academic responsibilities such organization of GEMP4 student rotations β as well as assisting with exams, development of academic programmes, organization of conferences and symposia and running of skills courses, GEMP1/2/3 electives and organizing electives for international students
Administrative support to the Wits Initiative for Rural Health Education (W.I.R.H.E) Scholarship programme β liaising with students at Wits and other students in other universities and liaising with funders and supporters of the programme
Liaising also with other offices in the faculty including the Deanery, HR, Finance, the Centre for Health Sciences Education, Offices in the Universityβs main campus β creditors office, student enrollment centre, fees office as well as the financial aid and scholarship offices
Managing and updating the website for the Centre for Rural Health
Responsibility
Basic Office administration for Rural Health Disvision
Admin support to IPC Blocks
Assisting CHSE in processing payments for IPC GEMP4 students
Assisting with photocopying, preparation of exam papers
GEMP1/2/3 Electives and organizing electives for international students
Capturing marks for IPC GEMP 4 block exams β MCQs, Computer Loops and OSCE
Assisting with IPC Teleconferences
Liaising with other internally based schools, departments, divisions and faculty floor. Liaising with offices based in Senate House.
Centre for Rural Health Advisory Board meetings
Placement of student to sites in different training platforms
Capturing marks for the Wits Academic Mark System for the IPC GEMP4 Rural Academic Block as well as the capturing marks and building mark unit structures for the Master of Public Health in Rural Health exams results
Processing of stipend payments for the IPC block in house and utilizing Oracle HR user view for the tax numbers and payroll numbers. Constant liaison with the Payrolls Dept. In charge of the Rural Health divisional vehicles. Liaising with the Services Department and external suppliers over their servicing and upkeep
Academic Qualifications
Matric/ Grade 12
National Diploma, advantageous
