A new Sales Representative position is available at bioMérieux South Africa. The Sales Representative will be responsible to achieve or exceed sales targets of the allocated territory through business development and customer relations within the Food, Veterinary and Pharmaceutical business sectors (Zone: eastern South Africa, Swaziland and Lesotho).

The Main responsibilities will be to
build and maintain strong customer relationships to promote instrumentation, reagents and service sales;

 

 
ensure sufficient number of visits to customers based on Customer Value Management (CMV) principles, respecting the “norm” or objectives set in the territory, while respecting the basics of the bioMérieux Sales Excellence principles;
execute the Sales Strategy as agreed with Sales Manager;
build and maintain sales pipeline to ensure that the designated area achieves sales targets and sustainable growth is retained;
assist with technical enquiries for install base within (but not limited to) sales area;
create projects at Industry level to bring value proposition level sales to customers;
prepare quotations, proposals, tenders, negotiate prices within the limits of authority;
promote cross-departmental co-operation, leading to the best and most efficient team to promote instrumentation, reagent and services sales;
report on sales, activities and territory performance as required by the organization;
actively monitor market and competitor trends through contacts with customers, Key Accounts, Key Opinion Leaders, and attendance at association meetings and seminars;
update and maintain Customer Relations Management software with activities and customer information;
ensure sales activities comply with the legal and ethical standards of the subsidiary and holding company.


Qualifications
Training, experiences and Skill required for the role:

Mandatory:
minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Science or Business in related fields;
two or more years sales experience;
must be able to work independently with >80% of the time in the field;
must be able to travel locally and overseas;
must have a strong motivation towards customer satisfaction and service excellence;
legal driver’s license;

Preference:
already located in Durban or Pietermaritzburg areas;
sales experience in food and/or pharmaceutical industries;
sales experience in equipment sales or working experience in laboratory environment;
solid computer literacy (e.g. MicroSoft Office, any type of CRM);
