Sales and Marketing Coordinator

Our client is sourcing a Sales and Marketing Coordinator with at least 2 years of experience in mining, manufacturing or production and a tertiary qualification in either Industrial, Mechanical, Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering. The ideal incumbent will have strong record keeping and administrative ability, be able to lead and inspire others with strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

Our client is 100% owned by a South African company listed on the JSE that mines a type of pyrophyllite. The bulk of the material mined is beneficiated to produce high-precision components manufactured to customer specifications, and exported to the USA, Europe and the Far East. The company owns a significant resource and has a strong drive on marketing and new product development.

Position details:

Type: Permanent
Reports to: Sales Manager
Primary purpose: This position has been created to be an understudy to the current Sales Manager so as to release him to focus on more strategic issues.
Job description / core competencies:

Understudy the Sales Manager and support him to focus on matters of strategic nature.
Undertake in-depth study of the market for synthetic diamonds, technical ceramics and industrial minerals and translate into business development plans.
In-depth study of manufacturing processes with view to fully understand and improve it.

Job Qualification & Experience:
Suitable qualification:

BSc/NHD in Industrial, Mechanical, Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering

Required skills:

At least 2 years of experience in mining, manufacturing or production
Computer literacy; Microsoft Office including presentation skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Code B driving license (required to drive to various sites)
Team player
Strong problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills English – verbal fluency and writing
