A telecommunication company is in a search for a receptionist for their Rivonia office. The successful applicant must be able to start in two weeks time. R10 000 to R12 000 cost to company per month.

The company offers a portfolio of solutions that include Ethernet products; and carrier grade network services. It also provides global dedicated Internet access, broadband Internet access, and IPVPN or public MPLS Lite services; and VoIP products, including VOIP solutions.
JOB PURPOSE:
Responsible for responding to Customer’s queries, both telephonically and face to face, in a courteous and professional manner and providing consistent, accurate and effective communication, so as to present a positive image of the company’s brand.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide Customer Service
Deal with Customers, either telephonically or face to face, in a courteous, efficient and prompt manner
Demonstrate “active” listening at all times when dealing with any Customer
Respond efficiently to all queries from the public
Handle Switchboard
Receive, screen and relay incoming calls to appropriate staff
Answer all Customer requests and enquiries efficiently and promptly, or direct the enquiry to the correct department
Direct all callers to the correct department the first time
Handle Messages
Revert back to callers placed on hold, giving the caller the option to continue holding, or to leave a message
Take and send email messages when staff are unavailable
Manage on- site Visitors
Ensure reception area is kept secure and in a quiet, tidy state
Receive on-site visitors, determine nature of business, answer basic queries and refer them to the appropriate staff member as required
Maintain office security by monitoring visitor access to company premises
Arrange security access with the VoIP department and monitor visitor’s stay
Ensure that boardrooms are kept clean, neat and tidy before and after meetings
General Administration
Build positive working relationships with all other departments
Update and distribute Telephone List, in conjunction with HR Manager
Sign for any incoming packages or direct to stores
Provide training to new staff members in their department on how to use the telephone system including messaging, transferring calls etc.
Maintain awareness of Health and Safety standards
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Must have Matric
Completion of training in switchboard operation preferable
1 year experience in the operation of a switchboard
