The Aurum Institute is offering a great opportunity to suitably qualified and experienced staff to contribute towards our mission to improve the health of people and communities through innovation in TB and HIV integration. We are focused on research, support and implementing integrated approaches to managing TB and HIV. The following positions have become available as part of the Public Health Division and you are welcome to apply should you meet the requirements of the position. 1. Project Co-ordination
Responsible for project co-ordination through:
o Monitoring sites
 Supervision and supporting of project teams assigned to the project.
 Support the teams to reach their VMMC targets
 Ensuring proper completion, documentation and reporting of the project work
 Assist and support the teams in planning for the weekly activities
 Assist the QA nurse to ensure that for the VMMC quality control measures are adhered to
 Assist in the project tools’ development
 Ensuring compliance of the project teams to the project SOPs and National VMMC guidelines
 Ensuring that sufficient stock levels for the project supplies is maintained
 Assisting the teams to procure the necessary equipment and supplies and to maintain adequate storage for the program equipment and supplies
o Project management
 Tracking and monitoring all the activities within the program.

 

 
 Responsible for collating and analysing VMMC data.
 Training of teams on data collection tools as well as periodic data auditing.
 Reporting on the program deliverables.
o Produce reports/graphs showing key performance indicators within the project such as:
 Program preparation
 Program deliverables
 Quality reports tracking
o Identify potential problems and challenges within a project and suggesting corrective action
o Maintain contracts and communication with the sub-contracted service providers.
o You will be required to work flexi-time

2. General Administrative
Maintain files for the program
Compiling and submission of daily, weekly and monthly statistics
Complete weekly status reports
Adhere to data collection and recordkeeping
Proper recordkeeping of stock received and distribution
Preparing files for quality control
Preparing the venues, equipment and other resources for training and meetings
3. Liaise with External and Internal Customers
Liaise with all Internal Customers and External Customers and Suppliers when necessary towards the achievement of organizational and departmental goals.
Conduct meetings with the program teams
Coordinating communication within the program and liaising between head office and the program implementation sites
Where applicable, address concerns with the relevant health services staff
Engage the communities with the assistance Community Engagement officer and other stakeholders
Promote Health Education in the community
4. Human Capital Supervision

Ensure supervision of program teams through:
Direct supervision of program tasks
Performance management of individual program team members
Facilitate training of the program teams as required
Identify and address staff issues between the program teams
Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures according to prescribed procedures and legislation
Report all unsafe activities to Senior Management/ Human Resources
Adhere and maintain decision making authority as allocated to the position
Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill
Ensure proper usage and maintenance of the program vehicle/s


Requirements
Qualification / Professional Membership
•Bachelor’s Degree / diploma in Nursing, or Public health.
•Advantage: Diploma in Primary Health Care
•Certificate in project management is an advantage
•Training in TB/HIV management is an advantage
Work Experience
•Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a professional nurse or equivalent experience
•At least 2 years’ experience working in community
•At least 2 years’ experience in management of health programs
•Experience in working in the TB and HIV programs will be an advantage
•At least 2 years VMMC experience.

Other requirements
•Basic personal computer skills, including electronic mail, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics etc.
•Driver’s licence and own vehicle
•Willing to drive own vehicle for work trips
