Merchandise Planner Assistant

Main Purpose of the Position:
An opportunity has become available for a Merchandise Planner Assistant who will be assisting the Department Manager. The incumbent must has good analytical, logical reasoning and numerical abilities. High energy levels are required for this fast-paced, exciting and dynamic retail environment.

Key Responsibility Areas:

Retail Store replenishment assistance
Stock holding levels - assisting to the Planning manager for allocations of stock as well as stock level control
Reporting and Admin
Teamwork and self-management
Priority Planning by assistance to the manager
High level of Excel understanding and operation for reporting purposes
Supporting and guiding team members with regards to efficient administration as well as the accurate allocation of stock to ensure that the right stock gets to the right store by the right time

Liaising with stores, suppliers, customers shipping and marketing
Experience & Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or Diploma
2-5 years of working experience as a Retail/Merchandise/Product Planner within a retail environment is required
Microsoft Office with advanced excel proficiency including creating spreadsheets complex formulas pivot tables
Working knowledge and experience with Merchandise planning and reporting systems is required
Experience in Fashion/Homeware planning will be advantageous
Attributes required:

Good articulation with excellent English written & verbal communication skills
Sound numerical, analytical thinking & logical problem-solving skills
Strong merchant, trader and commercial mentality
