Come help us to rebuild a legacy Java application into a modern micro-service architecture. You will have to rock Java, be BFF with Kafka, know Swagger, and at least be able to help yourself with CI/CD tools like Bitbucket, Jenkins and Ansible. Familiarity with testing services like SauceLabs and Anchore will help, and having toyed with Cassandra might also come in handy. It is likely that you will also encounter Dropwizard, EnvoyProxy, Zipkin (and opentracing-compliant friends) and Sentry on this project.

Notable disqualification cirteria: Not having absolutely mastered programming Kafka

SA citizens only
4+ years of Java development experience
Kafka experience & knowledge (Confluent platform, AVRO schemas etc)
Swagger experience
Maven, Jenkins CI, versioning tools (Bitbucket), Jira, Confluence & friends
Familiar with event driven & SOA design patterns. Having used DDD will be great
Write testable code - BDD / TDD experience will help
Beaing a team player, fast learner and a pleasant person to deal with is inferred

Experience is Higher Education is advantageous
