Health and Safety Assistant
We are urgently looking for a Health and Safety Assistant that will be based in Free State,Bloemfontein. The Health and Safety Assistant will be responsible for supporting the HOD and also ensuring that all objectives and targets of the EHS Management Plan are met. The individual is required to start as soon as possible.

The individual will be responsible for the the following:
To carry out monthly inspections of all applicable premise
Track resource consumption for reporting purposes;
To inspect all documentation
PPE control and issue. (Climbing Gear)
Preparation for annual legal compliance audit (Occupational health, safety, environmental).
Follow up on audit findings raised from audits
Draft and submit monthly report on Safety System
Identifying the need for safe working procedures
Arranging and coordinating risk assessments
Co-ordinate site audits, schedule trips

Co-ordinate internal files, findings, file inductions, updates.
Ensuring internal appointments are done and up to date.
Check and approve Health & Safety Plans / files.
Safety inductions on site.
Ensuring that day to day safety is managed and maintained
Reporting of incidents
Investigation of incidents
Recording of incidents
Remedial actions
Management of COID requirements
Ensuring risk assessments are updated after incident
Ensuring assistance during incident investigation
DFIR Tracking
Inspections/audits
Attend contractor’s forum.
Check Health & Safety Plans / files.
Audit and assist contractors
Onsite vetting and auditing
Assisting sub sub-contractors with compliance
Assist in weekly management meeting – raising safety related issues
Day to day operations, coordinating with projects
Health and Safety files on site
Training – coordinate and on the job training on SHE.
Site inspections at client premises
Interaction with contractors on day to day requirements
Travelling to client, travelling to sites, travelling to contractors
Attend client meetings
