Main purpose of the job

Reporting to the Unit Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for assistance with the preparation of food for the employees in the Google Unit. They will also be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and health in line with Company policies and Procedures and specific Health and Safety requirements. The incumbent will also be required to assist with preparation and serving at ad hoc functions for the unit.

Education and experience required:

Matric

Customer Service experience

Min of 2 years' experience in a similar role

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies required:

Excellent customer service and communications skills

Knowledge of basic mathematics

Excellent food preparation skills

Good cleaning and housekeeping skills

Function and waitering experience

Key areas of responsibilities:

* · To be polite, professional and friendly at all times with customers, clients and colleagues
* · To ensure the highest level of customer care is adhered to at all times
* · To ensure all displays, counters and seating areas comply with company and statutory health and hygienic requirements
* · To serve customers with hot and cold food and beverages on a counter during service times
* · To assist in the preparation of food and beverages as required
* · Inform chef/manager in advance of any menu shortages in order to ensure a quick and efficient service
* · To ensure portion control, preparation and storage methods, avoid wastage and keep down costs
* · To help with regular stock takes as and when required
* · To maintain temperature records as required and to report any variance
* · To assist with maintaining high levels of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and serving areas at all times
