My client in the supply chain industry requires the expertise of a Field Operator (Sales) with strong retail experience in the similar industry (Non-Negotiable) to join their team. Strong knowledge of frozen poultry products, merchandising management and customer relations background is essential.

The main functions of the Filed Operator will be to:

Pre-launch & continued Customer analysis:
Customer analysis.
Asses confirm & verify existing customer database per region.
Determine potential new customers, verify them, list them and complete necessary admin.
iii. Visit each store and to asses / verify following:

Sale potential/information with frozen product
Procurement cycle
Delivery requirements
Pallet & boxing configuration

Back office freezer capacity
Transito turnaround times
Display Freezer allocation(potential)
Display freezer functionality
Bar-coding requirements
Stock maintenance capability
In-house advertising/marketing capabilities/rules/policy
Cyclical influences
Regional / Demographical preferences
DC capabilities
Mark-up structure
Product spec expectations
Call-on cycle expectations
Growth potential – plan – strategy
Bulk packaging requirements
Labelling requirements

This position will require/entail:

Continuous & extensive traveling, overnight sleepovers.
During launches it will be required that this person work long hours on the shop floor.
Merchandising management & customer relations background is non-negotiable.
Brands marketing experience and knowledge of frozen(poultry) products/specs/trends are required.
Retail experience in similar industry is a prerequisite.
Budget planning & control expenses.
Must have a solid retail and sales knowledge.
Own reliable vehicle as travelling is essential
Be able to sleep out
Presentable and well spoken
Confident and self-drive

Salary around R16 to R23k
