takealot.com, a leading South African online retailer, is looking for a highly talented DC Assistant to join our team at the Distribution Hub in Durban.

The Hub will be responsible for the dispatch, receipt and management of parcels within Takealot & Superbalist. It's primary objective therefore centres around strict timelines, efficiency and cost effectiveness.

This position reports to the Hub Manager.

Your responsibilities will include:
Daily DCS talks to be attended
Adhere to all stock management and stock controls that are in place.
Efficiently manage all aspects of stock handling from receipt from suppliers to accurate and safe keeping of stock and associated processes
Manage and ensure that returns department is well organised and controlled to sufficiently support production and the goals of the business
Ensuring all work areas are clean and tidy and safe to work in (housekeeping)

Strictly adhere to the Returns Policy, from the time the returned stock arrives back at the warehouse
Adhere to standards of checking and confirming that the quantities claimed for by the customer correlates with that was stated on the return
Place stock in designated areas for filing
Inspect the products versus claim thoroughly before processing
Ensure products returned are checked to see if they can be resold and prepare them for put-away back into stock into a new location
In case the stock is not in a sellable condition, prepare the products for transportation to the clients. Prepare all the paperwork related to these operations.
Ensure all the papers and receipts are checked to make sure that all the data is correct and corresponds to the real products
Solve all the issues related to the discrepancies between the documents and the stored stock
Comply with continuous improvement measures within your department
Handle warehouse tools and machinery with utmost care and caution according to specifications
Accurately updating all data into computer and manual recording systems

Qualifications:
Be in possession of a Matric Certificate.
Minimum 2 years warehouse experience.
