About the Position

Our client based in Umhlanga is looking for a Data Scientist to join their team.

Requirements:

Matric with a focus on good results for Math and Science
Degree in Computer Science (Honours advantageous)
Strong statistics and math ability
Min 3 years' experience as a Data Scientist/Data Analyst
Passion for understanding and visualizing data
Creative and analytical mind when solving problems
Good programming skill, with some experience with
Python

R
SQL
Apache Hive
Apache Spark
Power BI
Good data visualization and communication skills.
Responsibilities:

Answer questions from business by analyzing and querying our internal SQL and Hadoop databases
Analyze large amounts of information to uncover trends and patterns and linking this back to business deliverables
Develop, implement and maintain our data analysis and data collection systems
Monitor performance indicators to detect and correct data problems
Build reports in Power BI
Propose solutions to problems using modern data mining techniques, including machine learning and deep
learning solutions.
