Business Improvement Superintendent

Supports the BI process across allocated divisions and departments, so that the divisions and departments achieve sustainable improvements in the categories of HSEC, Quality Production, Maintenance, Cost, Success through People, Business Improvement


CUSTOMER BASE:

BI Manager and Department Managers
Departmental Operating Personnel (e.g. Superintendents, Engineers, Supervisors)
Department BI Specialists
Accountable directly to the BI Manager and indirectly to the Department Managers for the overall success of the BI program at the Departments and for the sustainable delivery of improvement results through BI
Also accountable as custodians of the BI methodology across the company, i.e. ensuring that the systems, tools, processes are tailored and optimized to meet the ongoing needs of the business.
Specific accountabilities include coaching and quality assurance of BI Specialist (Dept)’s major BI deliverables, e.g. value-driver trees, opportunity pareto, production/ cost baselines.
In addition, accountabilities span multiple Departments (compared to BI Specialist Dept, whose span of influence is own Department only).

KEY ACTIVITIES:

Management of central BI activities
Wiring / PRM-MBT Meetings
Technology - MIS
Ideas pipeline management
Driving BI results
Communicating improvement progress

Degree or National Diploma in Chemical Engineering or Metallurgy

5-8 years in a BI, Technologist, Management Consulting role or similar role is desirable of which 2 years at least in Managerial position


Experience in the metal processing/ mining/resources industry is desirable.


Existing positive relationships within Dept/ Department management team is highly desirable
