An eminent financial services provider, is currently seeking an individual to assume the role of Securities Operations Analyst. The successful incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that all trades that are entered into by the front office are accurately recorded into the system, properly documented as well as being properly processed, settled and reconciled.


Description
Ensure all settlements are completed according to FIM group and local market requirements.
Understand existing practices and processes over all defined products.
Where appropriate, optimise process and practice with a view to efficiency, best practice, regulatory requirements.
Ensure all transactions are accurately transmitted and / or recorded into the appropriate settlement and / or service provider systems in accordance with procedures and deadlines.
Ensure intersystem recons and suspense account recons are sufficient, accurate, controlled and managed.
Ensure cash management is accurate and well managed reducing any cash breaks on Nostro and Vostro accounts down to zero.
Amend controls and procedures where necessary to ensure compliance with local market best practise.
Ensure all mandatory E-learnings are performed within required timelines.
Meet standard internal audit rating by implementing all the necessary internal control procedures.
Manage operational risk, including its identification, assessment, mitigation and control, loss identification and reporting.

Understand operational risk and its origins and impacts on the organisation.


Requirements
Matric
More than 2 years’ experience in settlements and banking
BDA skills and experience essential
Equity settlements officer exam are advantageous
ACI operations certification is an advantage
SAFEX futures are an advantage
OTC derivatives understanding and experience is advantageous
MS Office skills
