Job Purpose
Quality Control the transport costing sheets for files where BPL have handled the transport leg of the cargo movement, and Import clerts have adhered to client's agreed rates. Ensure all possible charges have been recovered within the costing sheet (OTIFNE). Obtaining competitive rates from Transporters for Estimators or new destinations or solutions required by our Clients or Commercial team.

Qualifications & Experience
Matric
Tertiary education in Supply Chain/Logistics


Experience in a transport costing position would be advantageous
Experience in a Supply Chain/Logistics environment is essential


Key Responsibilities
Quality Control of the Transport Costing sheets completed by Import clerks for the delivery of cargo to Import clients- via road, rail or overborder
Ensure all costs recovered accurately and timeously on each Costing Sheet
Ensure file QC'ed timeously, in order to ensure final invoice can be sent to client as per OTIFNE agreements
Ensure Transporters aware of any special requirements for specific loads, and rates shared accoridngly
Understand the Hazchem / Dangerous Goods Legislation as it pertains to documentation requirements for our client’s cargo and our Transporters. Understand the Road Traffic Act as it affects Road Transport, thus costing and special charges for permits etc
Cooperate with other departments and third parties to ensure operational effectiveness
If required obtain rates from Transporters and/or Warehouses in order to offer a client a solution as requested by Commercial, offering a market selling price after negotiating a Buying rate from Suppliers
Attend to queries quickly and efficiently
