Description
The Team Coordinator External Sales is responsible for actively planning and pursuing sales growth (volume and value) and service delivery competitiveness by:
Owning & Deliver on all performance targets for the allocated portfolio of external sales activities
Plan and coordinate External Sales Activity to deliver against external sales targets
Planning and coordinating External Sales Activity in the region
Proactively identifying external sales opportunities and pursuing new clients using multiple lead generation techniques
Plan and conduct education on Absa’s value proposition to customers
Identifying opportunities and focus the external sales team to represent Absa on external sales engagements
Actively building networks and relationships within the assigned area that supports customer acquisition, sales revenue, lead generation, citizenship and Absa visibility

Key responsibilities:

Deliver sales and service delivery targets within the assigned areas of responsibility
Deliver sales growth in targeted segments by identifying opportunities and then by driving and converting external sales opportunities through a team of external sales consultants

Plan and coordinate resources to attract new to bank clients in targeted segments
Actively unlock sales opportunities through effective relationship management
Proactively and appropriately interface across business units within the Region to identify opportunities for external sales
Provide sales opportunity leads for new workplace banking schemes to Business Banking and Corporate Banking Colleagues
Take Accountability for end to end fulfilment of workplace banking schemes and actively mine Workplace Banking Schemes to deliver on sales and service targets for the region
Work across RBB BU’s (liaise) to plan and coordinate external sales and service opportunities (e.g. Business Banking)
Proactively identify cross sell opportunities
Actively monitor and take accountability for own and team sales and service performance across the region
Proactively engage customers on needs as well as products and services to understand needs and opportunities
Proactively resolve client queries and concerns ensuring relentless focus on their resolution
Manage the external team’s client engagement routines
Implement external sales campaigns and initiatives in partnership with the performance team and relevant HO centres of excellence
Provide relevant and insightful feedback to product and performance teams on initiative mechanics and client feedback
Provide regular client feedback to the broader regional team for its active use in driving external sales and service strategies in the region
Translate customer feedback into actionable insights and relevant recommendations for further external sales activities
Monitor Sales Team Performance and coach and guide towards performance improvement
Identify process efficiencies and share best practices in the external sales team
Ensure the organization Is representative of the markets we serve and embrace team diversity as a competitive advantage
Drive a collaborative and engaged culture through aligned sales activity coordination within the team
Effectively lead the external sales teams to deliver against sales and services objectives for the assigned area
Drive proactive compliance & risk management in all external sales and service delivery activity
Implement effective governance & controls in all aspects of sales and service delivery for the portfolio
Encourage responsible citizenship and community involvement through aligned external sales and service activity
Act as a brand ambassador for the Absa business in all community activity
Proactively engage in social responsibility and citizenship initiatives

General

The appointment will be made in line with the Absa Employment equity strategy

Minimum requirements

Bachelor's degree in sales & service / commerce or related degree (preferred)
3-5 years' retail banking / sales / financial services experience that includes business performance management responsibility)
No criminal record

Preferred requirements

Preference will be given to South African Citizens and Permanent residents of South Africa with proof of permanent residence.
