The main purpose of this position is to manage and ensure the acceptable quality of banknotes in circulation, as processed by the cash-recycling operators and in accordance with the objectives of the South African Reserve Bank (SARB).


Detailed Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:
· Plan, control, coordinate and conduct inspections of the day-to-day operations in terms of reporting, machine settings, test packs and maintenance of the banknote processing machines.
· Manage the quality of the banknotes circulated by cash-recycling operators by performing quality checks of re-issuable banknotes and soiled banknotes.
· Conduct random runs of test packs on the banknote processing machines, to ensure compliance with the SARB’s minimum standards.
· Identify test boxes of re-issuable banknotes for processing, to check the fitness of banknotes processed by the cash-recycling operators, in accordance with the SARB’s minimum standards.
· Analyse and collate all preliminary reports from regional cash centres in order to provide feedback to cash-recycling operators and report to management for planning, decision-making and risk management.
· Perform walkabouts in order to observe the fitness of banknotes due for re-circulation.
· Manage internal and external stakeholder relationships and ensure information flow for the identification and resolution of queries or compliance matters.
· Facilitate and present, to the public and the cash industry, educational information with regard to the quality of banknotes.

Job Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must have:
· a National Diploma in Management/Operations or an equivalent qualification with job-related experience;
· minimum of two years’ experience in a cash-management environment; and
· solid knowledge of the currency integrity lifecycle, with specific emphasis on quality management and inspections.
· Drivers licence
