Position: IT Support Technicians X2
Location: Pretoria

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Technical Support
Receive requests to assist users with IT hardware and software problems and set ups.
Prioritise the nature of the problem and schedule corrective action.
Investigate the problem, identify and implement the solution as quickly as possible taking into consideration the urgency of the problem.
Install new software systems.

Computer hardware and server support, repairs and upgrades.Lan and wireless network support and troubleshooting.
Keep updated with new technology developments and trends.
Assess user requirements and formulate resolution or plan to address
Mimecast portal administration
Audio/visual technical support
IT asset tracking and documentation
Procurement:
Assist with IT tender requirements and processes
Inform finance of new equipment installed in order to ensure inclusion into the asset register
Assess user requirements to determine specifications
Support the IT infrastructure
Maintain infrastructure to support the IT needs of the company
Apply relevant security clearance/restrictions for users accessing company resources
Draw specifications in respect of types of infrastructure needed e.g. cabling, Servers, Switches, Printers and Backups
Determine server needs and recommend the purchase of equipment to satisfy the requirement
Configure and manage Virtual infrastructure
Advise and recommend the purchase of new infrastructure
Maintain Firmware, Anti-Virus and Patch management standards
Manage and resolve Security vulnerability scan findings
Configure and manage backup infrastructure
Configure and manage Surveillance infrastructure and ensuring high availability of footage
Support and maintain network
IT Governance
Maintain history files in respect of each Personal Computer with licensing and guarantees
Provide monthly reports in respect of Uptimes
Security breaches
Disaster recovery tests
Maintain a register of software licenses and ensure compliance
Adhere to policies and procedures i.e. change control management
Maintain a disaster recovery plan for all servers
Create, manage and evolve policies, processes and procedures
Perform backups and restores
IT asset tracking and documentation
Needed or requested by the Board and Senior Management that involves
Professional Skills and Key Competencies
Sound knowledge of the business environment, the relevant role players within the business and their key responsibilities and outcomes
Sound knowledge and understanding of all relevant legislation and regulations, including legislative and regulatory bodies within a specific environment knowledge and understanding of the company policies and procedures applicable to the specific work environment to ensure that work outcomes re compliant to the policies and procedures

Experience:
3-5 yearsβ experience in IT environment
Microsoft domain environment experience
Microsoft Exchange 2010 or higher
Virtual servers, VMware experience
Apple OS knowledge/iOS / Android and Mobile smart devices setup and support
Networking, cabling and switch support
Wireless infrastructure configuration and support
Qualifications:
3 years Tertiary qualification
Microsoft Certification, A+, N+, CCNA would be advantageous
