Choppies South Africa is looking to employ a Warehouse and Logistics Manager, based in Rustenburg, North West.The successful incumbent will report to the Operations Manager.

Job Purpose

To be responsible for the overall supply chain management which will include organizing and monitoring storage and distribution of goods and management of fleet of trucks and vehicles.

Responsibilities include:

Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse, transportation and customer services
Direct, optimize and coordinate full order cycle
Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency
Planning of trips (inbound and outbound)
Reporting on shrinkage control
Resolve any arising problems or complaints timeously

Supervise, coach and train warehouse workforce
Meet cost, productivity, accuracy and timeliness targets
Comply with safety regulations and maintain housekeeping
Strategically plan for future growth
Education and Experience Requirements

Minimum 5-8 years’ experience in a similar role within a retail/FMCG store operations environment
Qualification in Logistics Management or Supply Chain an added advantage
Proven working experience as a logistics and warehouse manager
Record of successful distribution and logistics management
Demonstrable ability to lead and manage staff
Excellent analytical, problem solving and organisational skills
Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects
Job Knowledge and Skills Required

Strong retail/FMCG background and understanding of Logistics
Knowledge of stock, cost, risk and compliance management procedures
Knowledge of labour legislation and IR practices
Sound managerial skills
Results and target driven
Planning and organising skills
Problem-solving and good communication skills
Good financial acumen
Computer literacy
