Job Title: EHOD Regional Operations

MAIN PURPOSE

To lead and direct the Operations function to ensure a reliable high quality network service is provided to customers.

JOB OBJECTIVES

Provide leadership to the Operations team in order to ensure VSA strategy is embraced and executed in Eastern region.
Ensure the region meets all set network quality targets.
Ensure the region meets set rollout targets without compromising network quality
Come up with strategies to reduce cost of network rollout

Ensure the region has sound network capacity plans end to end i.e RAN, Core, Access TX and Core TX
Provide guidance in rollout of new technologies such as LTE, ensuring zero negative impact on network quality and revenue
Play a leading role in ensuring a culture of HSE is inculcated in the region.
Come up with strategies to reduce network OPEX.
Ensure the Operations team is aligned to the Commercial objectives of the region
Create a commercial awareness within the Operations team.
Cultivate a culture of innovation within the Operations team
Ensure seamless coordination of customer care queries and resolutions
Create long term plans for switching core network
Set up, manage and monitor the expenditure of project Capex and the Opex budget for the region, relating to Network rollout and maintenance.
Manage telecommunication property, such as MSCs sites etc
Liaise and negotiate with all local authorities, local government, corporate bodies and businesses, which may affect the technical working environment of the region.
Contribute directly to the bottom-line by managing and ensuring that the availability and congestion of the Network is kept to the lowest possible limits.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

B Degree in Engineering or
3year Diploma or SAQA equivalent in Electrical Engineering (Light Current)
At least 8 years’ experience in Operations within a telecommunications network operator.(Essential)
Must have at least 5 years’ experience in one of the following operational areas:
Radio Planning & Optimisation/Radio Maintenance & Transmission/Network Performance Management/Project Management/ Property Management/Switching (Essential)
At least 4 years operational and management experience in the relevant environment (Essential)
3 years experience in coordinating with various stakeholders
