The position as technician will require both mechanical and electrical technical skills. The technician would manufacture, assemble and test water treatment systems from both a mechanical and electrical perspective.
Minimum Requirements...
EXPERIENCE:
2 – 3 year experience in a mechanical and/or electrical technician roll.
Experience in the water treatment manufacturing industry will be advantageous.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Matric (Grade 12) with Mathematics and Physical Science.
Valid Code B drivers Licence with clean driving record.
Trade test or certification would be advantageous.
Tertiary qualification will be advantageous.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:
Ensure safety and quality in the workshop.
Quality and delivery time of manufactured/assembled equipment and systems.

Application of knowledge and skill during manufacturing and assembly of equipment.
Innovative ideas to increase efficiency, performance, functionality and quality.
Policies, procedures and standards are complied with.
Professional appearance and conduct is maintained at all times.
Equipment and material are properly handled.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Understand and carry out oral and written directions.
Attending all training sessions when required.
Attending and participating is all toolbox talks.
Participating in risk assessments.
Participating in testing of water treatment systems and correcting any faults found.
Ensure workshop wastage is kept to a minimum.
Assisting if and when required in the welding area.
Assembly of electrical control panels as per design.
Equipment assembly and mounting
PVC, HDPE, etc. pipework
Mounting of cable trays, lights, panels, etc.
Electrical cable installation and termination.
Assembly of equipment and systems

Undertake additional duties or responsibilities, which fall reasonably within the ambit of the job description or in accordance with operational requirements.
