About the Position

A reputable and well-established company specialising in analytical instruments and laboratory equipment is seeking the above assist with setting up of the lab for calibrations of mass, volume and pressure.

Minimum requirements or the role:

A BSc or BTech in Chemistry or Biochemistry or Quality Assurance or related qualification is essential.
SANAS ISO 17025 certification is preferred but not essential.
Previous experience within a SANAS ISO 17025 accredited laboratory is essential.
Experience as a Technical Signatory is essential.
Previous experience in a Quality Assurance or Quality Control role would be advantageous but is not essential.
Knowledge of ISO 9001 as well as experience within a similar role would be advantageous.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Recording and reporting results using the LIMS system.
Developing methods such as validation and verification of various methods.
Liaising with SANAS regarding accreditation.
Acting as the Technical Signatory to methods within the laboratory.
Making sure all the laboratory references calibrations are valid, sending them out for calibrations where needed, further filing their calibrations certificates and updating their trend graph in order to monitor their drift.
Practicing and keeping up with the laboratory Quality System together with the Accreditation Organisations (SANAS) requirements.
Liaising with internal customers on a daily basis regarding the calibration requirements and tolerance in accordance with their Standard Operating Procedures on equipment.
Salary package is highly negotiable depending on experience.
