PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The incumbent in this position ensures the correct labelling and quantity of tissue web / bundle is captured as per MPS and complies to set standards and procedures so that production details are readily available on a continuous basis.
REPORTING TO PRODUCTION FOREMAN (TISSUE)
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Processes reel numbers, weights, MPS details, sizes and tonnages into the PTS system.
Ensures that reels processed from the winder are thoroughly inspected for any defects before dispatch.
Operates conveyor to transport rolls from winder to warehouse.
Checks that sufficient material for reel dispatching is at work place - labels, bungs, slings, plastic, etc.
Liaise with winder operator and dryerman in respect to tonnages made, tonnages remaining, etc
Liaises with lab analyst with regards to reel decisions
Assists on the winder, when required

Operates the hyster when required
Assists with core cutting, when required
Maintains a high standard of safety and housekeeping
Assists on shuts and clothing changes
Carries out any other reasonable duties/tasks as requested by supervisor
Reduces wastes / Prevents spills
Complies with hazardous chemical handling procedure and environmental legal requirements
Understand & comply with all SHEQ requirements of the job.
Carries out BBS Observations
Maintains a high level of good housekeeping in the workplace at all times

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

Matric (Grade 12) or N3
N1 Pulp & Paper or NQF Level 4 Paper Board or NCV L3 Pulp and Paper
Two (2) years experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably paper production
Clamp Truck license advantageous
