Leading software company with a strong focus on employee engagement and wellbeing has an opportunity available for an accomplished Systems Administrator (2+ years experience) to join the team. The role:
Client interaction and managing/resolving support tickets
Supporting various software products (developed in-house)
Guiding and advising customers on software
Liaising with Project Manager / Project team for implementation of new product installations / additional customer projects
Installations
Perfoming minor repairs / configurations and updates to the products according to specifications
Logging of initial bug reports in the bug tracking system, specific to the customer issue
Identify ways to optimise customer installations and report back in discussions with the team
Demonstrating patience and delivering exellent client service capabilities
Establish requirements for new systems / modifications by interacting with team, users and management
Advising on new features and requirements of products
Referring any major system issues to relevant third party suppliers
SQL scripting and query building
Bash scripting and automation
Install and manage Linux based servers
Install and manage Nginx web services
Install and manage MySQL database servers
Install and manage Azure services
Install and manage RabbitMQ services
Build and maintain system scripts to help maintain Linux server infrastructure
Requirements to apply:
Matric
IT Diploma, or similar - (beneficial)
Linux certification (beneficial)
SQL certification (beneficial)
2 years+ working experience in a similar role (required)
Experienced in RedHat Linux (or CentOS Linux)
Experience with MySQL server, Apache Server, PhP configuration, VPN technologies, Remote Desktop and Bash Scripting
Preferable if you have knowledge and working experience with SQL Server 2008, Transact SQL for SQL Server 2008, XML, and CSV files a bonus
Must understand customer service and how to provide at a level of excellence (not negotiable)
Understanding of processes for providing customer and personal services (including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction)
