About the Position

Switchboard Operator (Hospitality)

Well-known Hotel is currently seeking to employ a Switchboard Operator to join their team.

Requirements:

Matric
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
Excellent telephone manner and etiquette
Valid drivers license and own transport ESSENTIAL
Duties & Responsibilities will include:

Operates telephone / switchboard service
Provides information and assistance regarding telephone numbers and completes certain types of calls.
Enquires as to the nature of calls in order to refer appropriate person or service
Answers internal and external calls (local and long distance) and transfers calls. As required, takes and relays messages.
Provides telephone assistance to guests and internal customers as required.
Maintains a register of bookings and reservations and communicates with security and any special requests
Sends messages by fax as required
Compiles and updates data related to the area of activity
Corrects and updates electronic telephone directory
Types, photocopies, completes and distributes documents related to switchboard, telephone service or any other routine document
Uses standard office equipment such as computer, photocopier and fax machine
