This MedSupply Services intern will assist the MedSupply Services Officer and Manager to provide effective and reliable supply chain solutions in response to our internal and external Client’s needs.
Business Unit Overview:

The Medical Services Platform provides a broad range of services to Intl.SOS clients, including but not limited to, remote site medical staffing and logistics as well as medical consulting. These services are performed by Intl.SOS Medical Services Medical Directors and other operational support functions.



The MedSupply Services department based in Johannesburg procures medicines and medical equipment in several countries in Africa, whilst ensuring compliance to International SOS policies and regulations

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement:

Source and select new suppliers depending on requirements.

Process quotation requests from clients within required time frame.
Place all received orders with Suppliers according to the GAPP procedure
Monitor progress on back orders.
Maintain and update the tracking report.
Monitor the dispatching and delivery of orders to client’s delivery point.
Ensure documentation for export of goods is accurate and complete, as per procedure and country specific requirements.
Ensure that all sent items are duly signed by the receiver as proof of delivery.
Ensure dispatched items are submitted and invoiced as per agreement per client.
Ensure that the Supply Chain Unit acts as an agent and not as a trader.
Logistics:

Co-ordinate shipping of the goods with the clients nominated freight forwarder or the Intl.SOS appointed freight forwarder.
Collect export documentation from transporters.
Cold Chain: ensuring extra special care for all cold chain items is crucial during the whole process from supplier to final consignee. Cold Chain procedure must be perfectly followed without exception
Payment and Billing:

Assisting the MedSupply Services Officer in the payment and billing process
Learning the new SharePoint billing system
General:

Monthly update on MedSupply Services KPI
Update the standard lists and rental kits with change of price by keeping a regular contact with the suppliers.
Assist the MedSupply Services Officer and Manager with big orders.
Overtime might be requested for some special and urgent orders to organize.
Require Skills and Knowledge:

Excellent knowledge of African trade terms, routes, inspections and custom clearance.
Knowledge of exchange rate risk covering.
Advanced level of computer literacy in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Conceptual and process thinking, decision making, attention to detail, ability to evaluate options
Build and maintain effective relationships.
Quality and Safety focus in order to adhere to the company standards and procedures
High Standard service level orientated
Required Qualification:

Grade 12 or matric
Tertiary qualification in supply chain, procurement or logistics is advantageous
Required Languages:

Excellent written and verbal communication in English
French, Portuguese language will be advantageous.
