SA Metal Group is South Africa’s oldest and largest metal recycling company. The Group purchases and processes all forms of ferrous metals (steel and iron) and non-ferrous metals (aluminium, copper, zinc, stainless steel, brass and others) from industrial enterprises, scrap metal dealers and private individuals. Our processing facilities are located in and around Cape Town, Johannesburg and Pretoria. As of 2019, the Group is 100 years old.

A Store Man is an internal customer service position. The Store Man will ensure all internal requests are issued timeously. The Stores Man will off load all incoming material and store items in a designated area safely and correctly. His/ her tasks will include but are not limited to:

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Ensure all daily store tasks are completed on time
Assist with processing daily stock orders
Assist the Storeman at Elandsfontein with completing inventory cycle counts on stock items
Assist with conducting inventory stock take when required
Issuing required material to the production department
Issuing consumables and protective equipment to various departments
Do inventory cycle counts
Off-loading of all incoming material

Offloading of stock deliveries by suppliers
Checking of deliveries against delivery notes
Receipting of deliveries
Maintain minimum and maximum stock quantities
Adhere to Health and Safety regulations
General Housekeeping
Any other stores related duties as requested
Applicants must have the following qualifying criteria:

Grade 12 preferably with Mathematics
Experience in a Stores environment
Computer proficiency; packages required : MS Word, Excel
Ability to work under pressure without supervision
Be prepared to work after-hours, including weekends
High administration skills
Dedicated team player
Attention to detail
Deadline driven
Organizational skills
