Job Advert Summary
A unique opportunity exists within the Smart Shopper Team at Pick n Pay for a Customer Communication Strategist. In this role you will be responsible for planning, managing and measuring all communications that our Smart Shopper receive as well as to develop a clear communication strategy to ensure all communication sent drives customer engagement as well as commercial sense .Further to this you will be responsible for developing targeting strategies to ensure that we send the best, most relevant communications to our customers whilst ensuring low churn and high return from all our communications.

Minimum Requirements
Bcom/Bachelor of Science/Marketing Degree or equivalent work experience
3 - 5 yearsโ€™ experience in retail related environment
Minimum 3โ€“5 years communication planning experience with excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
Working knowledge and understanding of all channel, consumer behaviour and multiple data sets

Duties & Responsibilities
Challenge and inspire teams to think differently about why we communicate and on what platforms
Collaborate with internal stakeholder to develop successful communication strategies
Follow industry trends, customer engagement and conversion in assessing impact of communication
Assist and coordinate with internal departments to develop communication and targeting strategies
Generate new techniques to make communications more effective to our customers
Gain deep understanding of the Smart Shopper customer to inform objectives of the communication
Ensure that customer communications are in line with PnP brand
Provide thought leadership in consumer behaviour, creative engagements, commercial conversion of communication, accountability and measurement
Present regular reports to team members
Supervise and estimate success of campaigns and report them to the management regularly
Ensure communications are executed in a correct and timely manner ensuring maximum customer engagement
Liaise with third party suppliers on communication execution and technology innovation
Manage communication calendar, plan communications for the month and create financial forecasts for all communications to customers
