Security Network Engineer

Employer: Agile Staffing Solutions
Host Data Centres and 3rd party services and connection, with the focus on the security environment.



Key Role Responsibilities:

Monitoring

• Monitor core infrastructure

• Monitor 3rd Party services

• Relay relevant information in a timely and professional manner

• Alert and report on infrastructure outages

• Setup and monitor environment performance



Maintenance

• Maintain WAN, LAN and DC’s infrastructure and relevant services

• Maintain optimal uptime levels of over 99.5%

• Assist Junior Engineers to maintain the Group environment

• Plan capacity

• Setup and perform services disaster recovery

• Actively pursue automation

• Compile and update documentation



Support

• Proactively handle incidents

• Handle 3rd line support for environment related incidents and request that were logged via IT Helpdesk, E-mail support or Telephonic

• Liaise with IT Helpdesk and other IT departments

• Liaise with 3rd Party Vendors to support infrastructure

• Upgrade network and services hardware and software components as required

• Provide after-hours support when required

• Actively participate in mentoring Junior and Learner Members

• Design and provision moderate to complex networks and services

• Proactively put procedures in place to prevent and reduce severity of outages

• Provide on-call production support

Admin

• Administrate tasks such as reporting

• Log fault and tracking

• Escalate fault

• Manage asset

• Compile and update documentation such as SOP’s and how to guide

• Complete audit requirements as required by audit deadline

• Adhere to training and certification set out and agreed to in personal development plan



Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12

• Certificate in CCNA R&S

• Certificate in CCNA Security

• F5 Admin

• Checkpoint CCSA

• Checkpoint CCSE

• Checkpoint CCSM

• 5 Years relevant experience

• Implement security polices

• Strong expertise in the design, implementation and support Complex Security Architecture in corporate environment

• Extensive experience working with, Checkpoint products

• Experience with Cisco WSA and ACS in a corporate infrastructure

• Working and technical knowledge of Cisco Wireless solutions

• Extensive experience with checkpoint product suite such as Gaia and SPLAT running on open server, VSX and Virtual Edition

• Working Experience with Cisco SDN Technologies - ACI /Advantage

• Working knowledge of Cisco ISE

• Extensive working knowledge of analytical tools like Wireshark

• Experience in UNIX/Linux
