Leading travel company is seeking to employ a Junior & Senior Tour Consultant for Cape Town and Pretoria.
Duties

Have good product knowledge and sound geographical knowledge of Southern Africa including Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Mozambique, Swaziland, etc.
Team work and enthusiasm to assist colleagues.
Energetic and must have a passion for learning about travel.
Time management: ability to prioritise, plan and meet deadlines.
Effective verbal and written communication - internally as well as externally.
Take initiative and ensure attention to detail.
Be professional and offer high service levels at all times.
Ability to handle pressure and volume - be able to multitask.
Understanding and ability to use Google (Gmail, Drive, Sheets, etc).
Understanding and ability to use Tourplan & Wetu.
Liaising with Contracting Dept if any rates required.

Assist with rate negotiation should it be required.
Understand and be fully operational on Tourplan.
Operate tour from start to finish as per company procedures.
Contribute to the team’s target.
Emergency phone duty.
Ensure keep updated on products, itineraries of all agents within the company.
Put together Guide Manual and all supporting documentation.
Brief and debriefing of tourist guides.
Ensure get to visit the preferred suppliers of agent working with and get to know the products.
Take responsibility for all aspects of tours.
Proofread documentation, brochure text, website content, etc.Set up templates for each year.
Liaise with agents with regard to provisional bookings, alternatives, cost adjustments, etc.
Assist with crisis management on tours.
Be responsible for complaints and liaising with the agent.
Assist with guidance, management and training of Junior & Tour Specialists.
Delegate work to specialists.
Assist Team Specialist with additional functions/projects.
Minimum Requirements

Diploma / Degree in Tourism.
Previous work experience.


Desired Skills

Candidates that are fluent in German/Portuguese/French (not a prerequisite).
Salary

Negotiable and dependent on work experience.
