The Retail Commercial Business Advisor role reports to the Value Chain Optimization Retail Business Development Team Lead and is responsible for providing commercial support to both the Retail New Business Development and Retail Tenure Renewal teams.


Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

Key responsibilities include:


Initial screening of new retail commercial opportunities
Develop proposed commercial offers including supporting economic assessments
Review and validate the detailed economic assessment to support proposed commercial deals
Assist in the preparation of the departments business plan including developing proposed investment budgets (capital investment, deferred marketing loans, etc)
Work with team to conduct valuation of retail franchise business
Work closely with Strategic Network Planner to update new business pipeline tool and manage tenure renewal resigns
Develops approprite management information reporting as required

Required Qualifications:


Bachelors degree in business, economics or engineering will be advantageous
Demonstrated work experience in the oil industry
Analytical Skills: Demonstrated ability to utilize decision analysis tools and processes to evaluate multiple options for solutions. Utilize the techniques and tools that promote effective analysis and create alternative solutions. Consider both the long and short term impact of proposed solutions
Strong Business Acumen : Demonstrated understanding of investment economics and profit and loss. Conversant in trade offs and the economics of the retail fuels business
Commercial Knowledge: Demonstrated commercial acumen and savvy. Good knowledge of the retail fuels business. Ability to identify profitable opportunities to make deals
Communication/ teamwork: Ability to communicate in a clear, concise manner both orally and in writing

Relocation Options:

Relocation may be considered within Chevron South Africa parameters.
