Key responsibilities include the following:
To monitor cleaning services (including daily liaison with the cleaning supervisors);
Control of bedding and linen;
Monitoring & reporting repairs and maintenance matters to PIMD;
Liaison with PIMD Consultant responsible for respective residences, in securing quotations for medium and large scale work;
Supervision of one Handyman and an Assistant Housekeeper;
Assisting with conference group planning, namely, availability of blankets and linen; checking of rooms that need to be prepared; organizing of the keys for the conference & sports groups;
Overseeing safety in the residences and serving as the Health and Safety (Rep) Officer;
Storeroom control and record keeping
Control all room keys and master keys and ensure safe-keeping and systematic management.
Recommending maintenance and physical plant improvements for the areas;
Record of movable assets as well as identifying replacements of such items in accordance with an annual and long term plans;
Pastoral care support for students;
Monitoring the general state of the physical plant and recording work that needs to be done
Requirements:
Matric;
Basic Computer Literacy (including Excel; word and e-mail);
Minimum of 2-3 years of supervisory experience is essential; preferably in the hospitality industry (hotels; tertiary institutions; hospitals/clinics; etc);
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in addressing maintenance, cleaning, health & safety and general housekeeping matters.
