Little Green Beverages is a large manufacturing company in the Carbonated Soft Drinks industry. The Group has a national footprint and focuses on quality products for the alternative beverage market. To manage the Distribution Centre in such a manner that ensures alignment to overall business strategy, enables the value chain and contributes to The Beverage Company; Customer Service, Volume, Market Share and Cost Compression aspirations in a safe and responsible manner.

Key Accountabilities and Outputs

Adherence to the Health, Safety and Environmental Standards
Site housekeeping standards maintained and adhered to in line with the 5 S Philosophy.
Ensure adherence to site safety standards as head of Safety, Health and Environmental Committee in line with the OSH Act.
Ensure the safe operation of vehicles in accordance with the Road Traffic Act within and outside of the Distribution Centre.
Ensure compliance to all relevant legislation and support a safe environment for LGBs Employees, Contractors and Visitors.
Enhance People Capability
Ensure that LGBs Vision, Mission, Values and strategic goals are communicated and understood by all Employees and Contractors.
Employees are managed in accordance with LGBs Performance Management philosophy.
Input into Training Needs Analysis to ensure Employee development and to support LGBs sustainability.
Provide on the job coaching and mentoring to promote continuous improvement.

 

 
Manage Employees in a manner that maintains a healthy Industrial Relations climate
Employee punctuality, Time and Attendance managed to meet operational requirements and within budget confines.
Ensure that all Employees are conversant/compliant with relevant business information, policies, processes and procedures.
Support Social Systems
Create an environment that allows for cross functional learning, integration and collaboration to support LGBs sustainability.
Regular team meetings conducted to ensure achievement of performance targets, short and long-term objectives and implement short term interval control when these are not being achieved.
3rd Party Management
Contractors and Distributors managed against the Service Level agreement
Ensure Contractor and Distributor alignment to business strategy
Create an engaging environment to foster business partnerships and good relations
Continuously engage Contractors and Distributors to extract maximum productivity responsibly
Minimise use of temporary service providers and manage within relevant legislation
Business Planning and Customer Service
Annual business plans developed to enable Customer Service.
Business plan rolled, understood and executed by relevant Employees and Contractors.
Customer Service indicators analysed and detailed plans developed to improve service levels.
Ensure internal and external review of business processes for alignment with business strategy.
Ensure that product quality is maintained and relevant stakeholders engaged.
Effectively handle Customer complaints and ensure corrective action taken.
Ensure Customers’ service package are aligned to activity, negotiated and communicated to Sales and Customers.
Manage elements that contribute to On Time in Full target achievement.
Financial Management
Develops and manages budgets models and prepares financial forecasts.
Minimise overtime and temporary employee usage.
Controls expenditure against budgets and forecasts.
Authorises expenditure and ensure adherence to LGBs Procurement and escalation procedure.
Continuously seeks financial optimisation opportunities and demonstrates an Entrepreneurial outlook in managing the DC.
Weekly monitoring of general ledger accounts to ensure adherence to budget and forecasts.
Monthly financial performance analysed, necessary plans put in place to correct if required with detailed commentary supplied.
Fleet Management
Engage Fleet suppliers to maintain optimal fleet uptime to deliver against Customer Service commitments.
Ensure compliance and adherence to the Road Traffic Act.
Conduct regular fleet inspections.
Monitor and understand fleet key performance indicators and implement corrective action plans where required.
Ensure that LGBs mix of vehicles is optimal.
Ensure that the fleets appearance upholds LGBs image.
Manage fleet service providers against SLA’s.
Ensure that external Transport service providers are engaged and SLA’s are in place.
Governance
Manage LGBs assets responsible to extend their useful life.
Review and sign off the necessary internal governance processes.
Ensure that physical Inventory levels are reflected accordingly in the ERP.
Ensure that LGB is represented correctly.
Inventory and Warehouse Management
Conduct random truck counts to monitor effectiveness of internal controls.
Oversee the Warehouse and forecasting process to ensure stock availability and quality.
Regular engagement with Manufacturing to ensure plans are in place to meet OTIF targets.
Manage DOC and minimise Working Capital.
Ensure that inventory management processes are entrenched.
Inventory postings need to be understood to manage loss.

Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
•3 year tertiary qualification.
•3-5 years FMCG management experience.
•Proficient in Microsoft Excel/Office.
•Good ERP proficiency.
•Knowledge of relevant legislation.
•Knowledge of Customer Service principles and best practice.
•Strong Financial Management experience.
