Indigo Brands, based in Cape Town, is a subsidiary of AVI Limited (AVI). Indigo Cosmetics, formerly known as Yardley of London (Africa) (Pty) Ltd, has been manufacturing and distributing Yardley cosmetic products in Southern Africa since 1955. In 1992 National Brands Limited, an AVI subsidiary, purchased the Yardley business from the UK parent company and grew it into a multi-million Rand entity which led to the formation of a separate company within AVI in July 2003 called Indigo Cosmetics.

Duties & Responsibilities
National Lead for Product training materials, Activation Books and Silo qualitative information:

Generate, design and deliver training materials and tools thereby setting the National standards across Indigo Brands
Generate, collate and design training materials using information sourced from:
technical information supplied by Indigo Brands Laboratories and Coty Global;
Use product information supplied by Marketing to generate features and benefits;
current product and range visuals supplied by Marketing, PR and or Silo;
Produce a comprehensive national training programme across Indigo Brands that includes training manuals, instructional materials, hand-outs, multimedia visual aids/PowerPoint presentations
Monitor, measure and adapt training materials through collaboration and feedback from Regional In Store Marketing Managers
Identify, asses and evaluate the effectiveness of training programmes twice a year and revise training materials accordingly
Stay abreast of the Beauty Industry competitor new launches and trends and provide a report to Marketing and Research and Consumer Insights Manager every 6 months
Source and collate information, by given deadlines for Activation Books for sharing and presenting at the Leaders Meetings and Field sales at Cycle Meetings
Source and collate qualitative information for Silo requirements, including: product USPโ€™s, claims, features and benefits and strap lines

Achieve and exceed Regional Retail sell through targets for 4 Key Account Department Store & Health & Beauty Retailers for the Region:
Meeting regularly with Regional Sales Manager and Representatives individually and as a team to plan, exploit and exceed Retail sales growth goals in top performing doors in key Retailers.
Providing clear, regular and accurate feedback on sell through budget progress to Regional Sales Managers and Sales Representatives.
Sharing Retail sales results and targets with Consultants and measuring tracked performance to targets.
Enhancing Retail sales in top performing doors by partnering with both Indigo Brands Regional managers and Retailer Regional Managers to ensure synergies with the National and Retailer Marketing promotional calendars.
Regular planned and cost effective shop floor activation to ensure good return on investment and optimal sales results.
Monthly reporting of planning, activation sell through results and performance to targets.
Managing time to maximise efficient cycle calls.

Deliver product and sales training requirements for the Region for Consultants & Indigo Brands Sales Reps & RSMโ€™s:
One on one training and developing of healthy Consultant and in-store Management partnership and relationships while protecting and enhancing the company image.
Motivating of permanent and casual staffing and encouraging Consultants to achieve optimal sales results through link selling and product knowledge through on-shop-floor training and selling skills.
Curb-side coaching in stores with Consultants demonstrating, correcting, inspiring and motivating the appropriate behaviour and skills.
Planning and conducting basic product training schools for new Consultants at Head/Regional offices when requested.
Occasional Training of promotional Agency staff on Indigo colour brands for specific activations when requested.
Auditing and assessing of agency Promoters that represent Indigo Brands in the trade and providing feedback on grooming, behaviour, attitude and sales performance results.
On-going new launch and basic product training for Indigo Regional Sales Managers and Sales Representatives.

Deliver permanent merchandising and visual standards in accordance with Indigo Brands standards & ensure best practice requirements for New Store Openings:
Identifying, communicating and correcting merchandising of all brands. Adherence to the Company and Retailer planogram standards.
Negotiating additional space with Retail Store Management to enhance promotional offers on shop floor.
Ensuring proficient and thorough execution of merchandising guidelines and visual best practices on shop floor for key promotional periods.
Trade visits with Regional Sales Managers, Field Sales Reps & National Sales Manager as a collaboration to seek out opportunities for Brand enhancement.
Creating hype around key new store openings through shop floor activations at critical opening dates.
Enhancing allocated space for Indigo Brands and ensuring strong visual appeal on shop floor that will surpass competitive brands.
Assisting with merchandising prior to new store openings that will ensure successful opening period.
ISMM monthly Feedback Reports to be submitted on all Power Doors.

Ensure execution of marketing plans in store & activations on shop floor:
Execute all marketing plans per door as instructed in launch/promo schedule and activation books correctly and on time.
Plan and execute own in store eventing and activations that will deliver a good ROI and enhance sell through results.
Plan in conjunction with the Consultant, frequent mini eventing opportunities in all Power Doors that can be conducted by the Consultant on shop floor to enhance sell through results. Ensure that plan has been carried out.
Feedback on retail sales and success of launches and promotions in monthly reports.

Develop strong relationships and communicate effectively both internally and externally:
Attend monthly meetings with Indigo Regional Sales Managers and Retailer Regional Managers.
Follow a partnership approach to the Regional Retail Managers based on a foundation of ethics and trust.
Discuss stores performance in order to focus them on the INDIGO business and address problems encountered by the sales force in the trade.
Ensure that all store management issues that are unresolved are discussed prior to escalating to channel and head office.
Hold monthly meetings with Indigo Regional Sales Managers
Follow a partnership approach to the Indigo Regional Sales Manager based on a foundation of trust.
Discuss stores performance with emphasis on sell through and power doors.
Collaborate with RSM on action plans, training or eventing needs and opportunities.
Work collaboratively with RSM in special projects in problem, power or opportunity doors.
Discuss Consultant performance, training and on-boarding and any other related issues.
Participate actively in Sales Team Leader meetings
Add value to discussions based on insight and knowledge.
Pay attention to information presented and check understanding.
Take the opportunity to engage and build relationships with all parties.

Experience Required
3 โ€“ 5 years Retail, Health and Beauty Sales experience
3 โ€“ 5 years Sales Management experience in a similar environment

Minimum Qualifications Required
Completed Grade 12 / Matric / NQF4
Cosmetology/Beauty Therapist Diploma
3 year National Diploma/Degree within a relevant field of study will secure

Knowledge Required
Cosmetic Industry Knowledge
SAP Manager self-service and SAP reporting and BW
Knowledge of financial processes
Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Major retailer processes/systems regulations
Brand product knowledge
