Quantity Surveyor/Buyer

Employer: Linear Building Concepts (Pty) Ltd
Adding value to the manufacturing process by proactive involvement in procurement, cost management and reporting. The Quantity Surveyor drives best value from suppliers and subcontractors. Carries out monthly financial reviews on projects and forecast final outturn values for cost, sales and margin. Maximize value of monthly applications and measurement and submission of contract variations.

Timely submission and negotiation of final accounts to the client / main contractor and subcontractors.

Prime responsibilities:

Preparation of bill of quantities and cut sheets
Assistance with preparation and Cost reports
Ensure invoices and delivery notes are processed promptly on a daily basis as received
Reconciliation of supplier invoices and delivery notes are processed promptly on a daily basis as received.
Reconciliation of supplier statements on a monthly basis
Frequent verbal and written communication with suppliers with prompt action being taken when required.
Invoices without purchase order numbers or signed delivery notes are queried promptly with the supplier

Errors I.e. price variances, returns, shortages, budget exceeded, no goods received are queried promptly.
Approve procurement product specifications
Verify the quality of received goods and services
Manage procurement contracts
Maintain related systems
Build, maintain and measure supplier relations and/or performance
Planning and stock allocation
Source goods and services of the required quality competitive at the lowest possible price to get maximum value for money.
