Job Description
Purpose of Job:

To ensure compliance with the Company Policy and Procedures as well as Statutory compliance requirements with regard to employment and remuneration. Assist the Payroll Officer with payroll processing and general payroll tasks. Responsible for all payroll administration. Fill in for the Payroll Officer when needed.

Key Performance Areas:

Assisting the Payroll Officer with payroll processing on VIP.
Collecting and sort payroll information for all employees.
Check variable income payment calculation for overtime, commission and staff incentives.
Assist with the managing of staff files.
Update staff leave balances
Collect and check attendance registers for all staff.
Manage staff garnishee orders.
Payroll filing ,Prepare UIF documents and pension fund withdrawal forms for exiting staff
Attend to pension fund queries.
Deal with complaints and questions regarding payroll from employees and upper management
Assist with payroll queries and resolve any discrepancies in payroll
Assist the Payroll Officer with any payroll relating task when required.
Assist with financial year end audits.
Capture staff warnings on VIP and place in employee files.
Get the staff headcount signed off by all the managers before salaries are transferred.
Do confirmation of employments
Education, experience and competencies required:

Grade 12 with mathematics and accounting essential.
HR related Degree or Diploma
Knowledge of LRA, BCEA, EEA, SDA, WC and related employment laws.
Understanding of payroll and time and attendance systems.
Experience in training and development and Employment Equity.
Sound computer skills (MS Office, VIP Payroll, Time & Attendance).
Experience in recruitment and retention programmes
Confidentiality, reliability, trustworthy, and maturity.

Service focus and communication skills.
Attention to detail and big picture thinking and independent work.
Certificate in VIP Premier Payroll & Admin advantageous. (VIP Academy)
3 - 5 years VIP Premier Payroll & Employee benefits admin experience essential
Sound understanding of SA employment legislation: BCEA, LRA, SD, EEA & WCA
